2 Bass 1 Lure

Featured Replies

Ive been fishing for almost 15 years and this is the 1st time I have done this. I was using a Rattlin Rap 07 with swapped out 6 trebles. I caught 27 bass in about 1.5 hrs today all on the same lure. I caught 2 or 3,3-4lbers but most were small. I thought I had lost the fish at first and then I felt it tugging again but once it got close I seen 2 heads swimming right toward me. I was worried I would lose one before I got them to shore but they were both hooked pretty solid. Has anybody else ever done this before?

Once with smallmouth and once with largemouth.  The smallies were just little 12-13 inchers.  The largemouth were a little bigger with a 1.5 pounder on one hook and a 2 pounder on the other.  This happened somewhere around 1990-91 or so on a HighRoller topwater bait.

I have done it on an umbrella rig but never a rapala

I've done it twice in the same day with a kvd 1.5.

Doubles are always fun, not matter how big they are. I've done it twice so far this year, about a month ago on an Excaliber XRK50, and 2 days ago on a Pop R.

That's pretty cool!  I've caught doubles (bluegill) fishing worms on 2 separate hooks on the same line but never 2 fish on the same lure.

I was thinking the same thing about a dropshot!

I had that happen once. One LMB and Peacock bass on some sort of jerkbait. Really fun.

I know people that get doubles on WTD topwater baits when smallies are crushing schools of shad on the Ozark lakes.

I got a double up on 1 pound bluegills in the potomac a few years ago on a little blue fox firetiger crank. Never had it with bass though.
