Try As I Might...i Just Can't Get This Knot To Cooperate

Featured Replies

Anyone have tips on how to tie this? I'm trying it with 65# Spiderline on my Frogs...just cannot get it to cinch down...am I the only one that has difficulty with this knot?

Go slow and slobber it up good before you tighten it up.  Tying that knot with 65 lb braid might be overkill, I don't know.

I use just a single Palomar. Never fails so no need to change

Might be overkill...In the vid its being tied with 80#...maybe its just tbe brand? Seems like way too much effort is needed to tie that double Palomar...wonder how many times a hook has ended up deep in someone's finger because of all the pressure involved in cinching that knot...

I'm sticking with the regular Palomar...

I have never had any problem with a regular palomar.

I couldn't watch the video but i've seen him use pliers to cinch that knot down. He said it didn't hurt to do that with braid.

Single Palomar with 65lbs braid is tough to cinch down and I could not imgaine trying to cinch down the dou ke palomar. Don't think a double palomar is needed.

If so pliers to pull it should not hurt the braided line.

An easier knot would be the Shaw Grigbsy knot. I have yet to have it break with 40 # braid.
