Best All Around Rod ?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to put it on a Lews baitcaster. I want at least a 7' and I'm looking at probably a mh. I'm only 21 and just get back into bass fishing heavy again. I'm looking around spending around 100-130 on a rod. There's a lot of decisions and I can't decide on which I want.

7' mh/f rod is a good all around rod.  For your price point I would look into a Falcon bucco, St Croix premier/mojo, BPS Carbonlite or Shimano Compre.

X2 MH/F 7' if I only could have one! for that price mine would be a used St. Croix Avid or new St. Croix Premier!! :bravo-009:

*** Black although some think the grip behind the reel seat is too short.  Had hoped to get out with my Medium Fast last weekend, but it didn't happen.  Therefore I can't comment on the grip.

I picked up a Fenwick Techna AV 7' within your price range.  This would make an excellent all-around MH rod.  Powell Max and Endurance are on sale at thefishranger.com

as stated

Powell endurance is about 124 shipped from the place he quoted above for the 714 model is a good all around rod1/4 to 1oz or the 725 if you want a slightly heavier powered rod 1/4 to 1 1/2...they have a lifetime warranty. The rod is normally 170 elsewhere, like on tackle warehouse.

The *** black is a good rod also at 100 dollars for a 7ft1 mh, if you have a gander close by you can try one off the shelf

falcon bucco micro.guarantee it's lighter than any other rod in that price range.

Powell Endurance 723cef at the fish ranger

I just started fishing a lot again myself and got a St Croix Premier spinning rod. I just bought my first bait casting reel and didnt hesitate to get another Premier for it. I think they are awesome rods. I highly recommend it.

7' 1" MH/F rod by *** *** Black an amazing rod and can pretty much fish anything you would like with it.

I have several of their rods and love them. The grip is not an issue to me and the rods are very comfortable light and extremely well balanced. I have had no issues fishing these rods all day and into the evening.

well below your price point, but i went with a berkley lightning rod shock series in 7' MH and love it. I put my Lews tournament MG on it. Ive always liked the lightning rods. Never fished with any of the more expensive rods so i cant compare it to one though.

My vote is also for the 7'1 MHF 13 Fishin *** at your price point. This is th rod I take with me when I go shore fishing and can only take one. Very versatile which you can use for just about anything. You will not be disappointed.

Powell from Fish Ranger....a steal!!
