I was recently given an unused 9' rod, heavy action. Is there any bass application that you can think of that I could use this for???? It's awfully long....

What is the line and lure ratings??

First thing that came to mind was big swim baits, but i would need to know more about the rod.

1 oz. - 4 oz. Lures, 15 - 40 lb test.

Big hard swimbaits and punching. Spool a reel up with 65lb braid and go to town.

Sell it to a pike/musky angler and buy a rod you will use.

Sounds like a Salmon rod.  They usually have a much more moderate action than a Musky rod.  10XD cranks?

Casting or spinning?  I'd like it for surf or pier use, would not like it for a boat rod.

Musky fishing is the reason my wallet is always empty. Everything's so expensive.... A 9' 1-4oz rod sounds like a heck of a good musky bucktail rod... I use a 8' fenwick ET For mine..

Its a BPS rod. I just noticed it says Pete Mania on it. Musky rod. There are quite a bit of musky fisherman around here in Indiana, so I may be able to unload it.

You can't use a rod over 8' when tourneyment bass fishing, no length limit for relational fishing use.

The original flipping rods were 14' long!

I don't see it too useful for anything else, put some bait on it and chunk it out.  It may say muskie on it, I'd rather have a shorter rod to pull those fish out of cover.  If there is little cover I don't think a rod that heavy is needed, only to handle the weight of the lures.

If all else fails get to practicing for the olympics
