Casting Football/ Jig Rod. Sellus Vs Clarus Vs Compre

Featured Replies

I didn't add convegance because I have never felt nor seen one for sell.  I have a reel and no rod, lol like I need another rod :) but why go back in forth from tying  T rigs to footballs. any way will be looking at 7'2 MH models. I have tried and used all models of shimano series up to new cumaras but want to keep this 100 or lower, so I can tell a slight difference in clarus and sellus but not much from clarus to  compre. I know with jig taps you need a great rod; but do you think I could get away with a sellus for one. my current sellus is great topwater and sometimes spinnerbait rod, but well with those bites sensitivity isnt that big of a deal.

Crucial ;)

For jigs and t-rigs, I use the best rod I can afford.  To me, these are the techniques where sensitivity is the most crucial and where I think you get the most value for your dollar on higher end rods.  I don't have any experience with either of those rods though.

Unless I can find a crucial used a hundo is we're I wanna stay atm

Used Crucials for $100 shipped on a certain internet auction site. Cumaras for $175, too. Otherwise, Compre.

the labor day sale is coming with most vendors the last week of the month. just wait until then and get a better rod for the same price.

I've tried both the clarus and compre in 7'2" and I prefer the clarus. The compre seemed a little heavier to me.

Had the Sellus, not bad for the price, but I sold it. Still have a Compre so that gets my vote.

I have a sellus, clarus, loomis, and compre. You could count me in the shimano/shiloomis club. The sellus is a nice rod but the clarus and compre are better. Between those two I think the difference is marginal. I'm pretty sure they have the same real seat but a different grip. I'd chose the one that feels better to me.
