Guess The Weight!

Recommended Posts

This thing nearly jerked the pole out of my hand, and when I reset my grip, almost pulled me in the water. Luckily, I was able to regain my footing and just barely got this thing on the bank. Glad I had braided line!

Judging by the size of the eye, and length/girth compared to your hand.....Its a typical +/- 5-6lber. But you will never know because you didnt get measurements or carry a scale.

It looks more like a 4-5 incher.

10 lbs 5 oz, assuming you are 30 ft tall and have 24 inch hands. And that's the 22 oz inline spinner.

Have to start carrying a jewelers scale with you to weigh your fish!

However i would add that it is too close to the camera. The full palm extension always adds a few extra pounds. This one is 3-4 pounds tops, 7-8 pounds during the spawn. Was this a catch and release or did you do the duplicate mount? Was the bite subtle, did you let her take it for a while, or did she ambush it as she hid behind the pebbles near the shore? I wouldn't worry about the weight. Lesson learned though, buy a scale.

I notice you're holding the fish a little close to the camera which adds a pound or two so I'll go ahead to deduct that and guess 7 lbs 6oz.

haha, you guys are great. I was hoping I could get a laugh or two.

What was interesting to me was how aggressive this little guy was. He slammed this roostertail where I could see him. He ever got some air and taildanced for me!
