Hey everyone, I love to fish crankbaits but want to get into fishing lipless cranks. The things I have trouble with are which weights go to which depth and how to fish them. If anyone has any tips on either of these, thanks.

Since lipless crankbaits are sinking lures, different sizes will get to the same depth, they'll just take different amounts of time to get there. They're very versatile and you're limited only by your imagination. You can burn them, use a lift and drop, tick the weeds and do other things. Just do some experimenting and discover the ways that you enjoy fishing them and which ways work for you.

I think the 1/2 oz Red Eye Shad is universal.

Both of these responses are spot on.   I'll just add that while you can fish them at any depth, try to keep them from dragging the bottom as they can be easily snagged.  I think I've lost more lipless cranks than any other bait.  Don't let that deter you from fishing them though.  They're an awesome bait!

I like to use the 1/2 oz. size in deeper open water.  If I am throwing around cover or in shallower water I will use a 1/4 oz. just because it sinks slower, and I'll have more time to start reeling it in.

remember that as you reel in lipless baits they have resistance on them that cause lift, so your speed of retrieve will determine what depth you will fish at.

Great tip right there. Use that resistance/lift to your advantage and vary your retrieve speed or just flat out stop it once in a while...boy, bass just can't stand that!
