Rigging The Rage Tail Menace

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about picking a few packs of these up for my swim jigs. How do you guys prefer to rig them? Tail flat like crawfish pincers? or sideways like a fishes tail?

On the back of a flipping jig, I rig it horizontal. On the back of a swim jig, vertical.

Same goes when I rig it Rage Rigged. If you run it on a 4/0 Stroker hook or a weighted swim bait hook horizontal and burn it across the surface, it doubles as a small buzz bait. Puts off a crap load of vibration and water for such a small little bait.

first I rig them horizontal (tail flat). Then when it gets tore up a bit from the fish, I turn it sideways. I have caught fish both ways. Cannot say which one produces more strikes. I have never rigged it on a flipping jig, but its my main swimjig trailer.

Either way. I rig it both ways, depending on how I'm fishing it. When rigged vertical, it strongly resembles a bait fish swimming.

on a swimjig- vertical.  On a football fished deep- Horizontal.  I don't fish them much as trailers in other situations.  Now, what I do use them for is flipping and pitching- they're stoopid good for it.
