Send him all fake info and see what he asks for next.

I had a text on my boat this morning asking if it was still available.

I said yes, then I get this text:

"I will be paying ur asking price but due to the nature of my job and location I will not be able to come for inspection, am very busy type as I work long hours every day. I have gone through your advert and I am satisfied with it. As for payment..i will be paying you via the fastest and secure way to pay online(paypal) I have a private courier agent dat will come for the pick up after the payment."

I asked for his email, as I have a bunch more pictuers to send him.... he sent me his email to send the pics.

Feels wierd but I REALLY need to sell this boat, LOL.

That's not even a question of whether it's a scam or not. It's obvious it is. RUN!

I know , I know......it sucks though. With scammers abound, nothing can be simple anymore.

Your name shall be Barry McCockiner and make your number something random, etc

The one I got, I originally got an email asking if I was willing to go down on the price a little and then to respond to his "work email" so he can respond quicker. So I did. Almost immediately (within 5 minutes) I get the scam email (from his "work email") as posted in the original post, verbatim. I responded to the email telling them I'll sell it to them for a very special price for them only (double what I listed it as) and to email me back if they still want it and it will be shipped as soon as I receive cash payment. No response, surprise surprise.

Had a similar scam via text message when trying to sell my paintball gun. "buyer" said they were ok with the price and asked where they could come pick it up. I said cash only, during the day in a walmart or grocery parking lot only in my neighborhood. Never got a response other than he said he would send a check.

I use ebay now for everything and do not trust craiglist in the least.

I have had great luck with Craigslist. I make it a point to harass the scammers that contact me. Its either cash or merchandise.

funny thing is, my "scammer", well I emailed him back and told him to overnight me a cashiers check and once it clears he can pick up the boat.

he then asked for my address to send the check.

Now I don't know what angle he is working????

Tell him to send it general delivery, and you'll pick it up at the post office.
