I'm taking them.  Have talked to Henry and will meet on the ramp Sat AM for a practice day.  Friends did favors for my late son when I was unavailable.  My turn to return the favor to someone.

Got to hit Rayburn today and found some nice fish. Probably caught 30+ fish. Got on a trap bite early in the AM and went flipping later in the day. Had one of the best days I've had in a while, best f

Well I haven't been on here in a while but have got to get a little lake time in the last couple of weekends. Last weekend I won a small club tourney with a little less than 13 lbs, ten boats fished i

A couple of teams caught 3 in five fingers which is bout right

Did not get much response from my last post requesting the condition of Raburn.  I guess most are not fishing because of the weather.  Anyone been on the lake??  What is the lake level, clarity, how about the grass line, what depth are the fish holding in??

Have a one day tournament on Feb. 15 on the South end of the lake out of Umphrey's  Pavilion. Don't know much about the South end.  All info appreciated.    Thanks   Backwater

lake level  160. 70 or so  rising slowly  due to light rain in the area this morning.   Fished the  north end yesterday  had 3 solid 3lb's   all shallow on traps or jerk baits  (On flats with deep water  close by) Didn't get any bites till the sun came out.  Water temp to start  early  was 44.5  after sun came out  by 3pm had warmed to 50.3 in back of  creeks.   Weather  today  is light rain temp in Lufkin at 12:00 pm was 43  with freezing rain predicted next 2 nights.  supposed to be a warming trend begining thursday. But  I would expect to find water temps only  in the high 40's or maybe low 50's by Saturday.   The BFL was this weekend and I believe most of the  good bags (there weren't many) came from  the 147 bridge, canyons & harvey creek areas but  can not  confirm  that 100%   And Mr. Newberry won that one so expect he will be tough this weekend.

Thanks for the info hunterfishes. Looking forward to the first trip. Been a long time since I have been on the water. I will have a couple of rattle traps tied on. one red for sure. Friday is supposed to be quite warm so maybe the water temp will get up to 50.

I read all the posts almost every day and appreciate that you like getting out on the water at such an early age. Keep a chunk'en and keep a tight line. Backwater

Hope the info helps    We will be on Toledo this weekend, but we have one coming up on Conroe in April, and we know very little about that lake. So keeps us in mind if you  hear any   reports from there .

Live in Conroe - keep in contact when your tournament gets closer.

Here is the scoop with the Texas Team Trail on Rayburn today:

251 boats

39 boats with over 15 lbs.

12 boats over 20 lbs

5 bass over 9 lbs.

Winning stringer 35.14 lbs  -  Wow!!  over a 7 lb. average - Must have found a staging area of big Mamas'

We had only 4 bites, and landed all 4 and weighed 3 for 5.38 lbs.  - not good

2 came on a wacky worm, 1 on a rattle trap, and 1 on a chatterbait

water temp as high as 53 in the back of some of the creeks

There on the move, go if you can  -  keep a tight line

back water  don't feel bad We fished the Ignition bass tourney Sunday  and had same luck  could not get a trap bite and finally backed out to outside grass on carolian rig and wacky worm  caught 5 weighed 3 for 4.79     Water temp as High as 55 in back of coves but no fish in the shallows we could find,  The  3rd place stringer of 15 or so  did say there fish were  real shallow. but we weren't in the right area  I guess.   I'm not sure if they were in a cove or on points though. due to foggy conditions  I stayed in the 147 area and didn't run north.

hunterfishes: Fished a club tournament on Conroe on Sunday. We fish team in the club. There was 11 boats and only 10 total bass caught. 1 boat got on them and weighed 5 fish for 20+ lbs. We came in 2nd with only 1 fish, but it was a nice one - 7.93 lbs.

Keep up the good work

Backwater  PM sent   Thanks again

Catt still posts a good bit...check out the Toledo bend thread, he just posted today. Fishfordollars passed away awhile back. He was a great man and a great fisherman. We all miss his knowledge around here.

GOING TO SAM  in next few days!!! :eyebrows:

Headed up to Rayburn friday for a high school tournament gonna be a lot of boats up there this weekend

I guess you have read all the posts here and on the Bend - Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Yes sir I have

Good morning everyone I am posting for my son hunter and his partner they were scheduled to fish the high school tournament on sam rayburn this weekend. but while we were prefishing last friday we lost the lower unit on our 250 (think it broke a driveshaft) I have it in the shop but not sure at this time if it will be ready. The boys are sitting in 36th place right now and could make a move up the standing with a good limit this weekend. I was checking to see if anyone knows of someone whould be willing to boat capt. for them this weekend or if there is somewhere to rent a boat for the event. I'll try anything at this point.
We will know today or tomorrow if they can get our boat ready, but was told it would be a long shot.

any help/advice would be appreciated

Man thats a tough thing to happen this time of year. Hope it works out. Id offer, but Im already booked. You might also post over on the TB thread too.

I would, but I've got a tournament on Toledo this Saturday. You can probably find a place that rents, but I'm not positive. Good luck!
