texasoldtimer
Weighed in a 7.15 in McDonalds last weekend. Caught her 15 minutes into the tourney Friday morning. Top water in 2 feet of water. Lots of fish moved up feeding in early morning on some main lake points. I heard winner caught his in 2 feet in late morning after having making passes through same area without a bite. Just happened to be their when she moved up. I know a couple 6 pounders were caught in 10 feet on 10 inch worms. Had over 20 fish a day in our boat the first 2 days. But Sunday was tougher with the 30 mph wind. Only 5 fish that day but couldn't fish our best areas.

hunterfishes
Thanks Henry I am working and they are fishing with Chase's uncle. They had a limit today but it was small (around 10lbs) last I heard they were in about 40th place but still had a good many to weigh in. henrylewis
What was big bass and who won
hunterfishes
Rambo and his partner won I think a 9 something was big bass took over 19 pounds for 2 days to get a check. Hunter and Chase never got their top water bite Sunday Morning and only picked up three on the flats on Carolina rig. Had 15.09 total and ended up in 70 place. they were in the top 50% of the field in their first year and only 7th graders So I am Really Proud of them. And Thanks to Chase's Uncle, Tom Webb for covering for me and being their Boat Captain. Now its off to Livingston for the next YFL event on May 31st Hunter is leading the division for angler of the year and hope we can get on a bite there. Looks like it may be a summer pattern by then. TxGator
Yesterday was a good day. My father in law and I fished from sunup to about 1. Had 2 just under 4#, one just under 5#, a 6#, and my new best a 8#. On flukes mainly but a couple on wacky. Couldnt get a strike on anything else. I did see a couple swim around my top water lure, but wouldnt strike. Caught a few other fish that were too small and a couple that were barely legal. They all came from 10 - 12' on points. TxGator
It was definitely my best day on the water as far as big fish goes. We've caught more fish overall but not of that quality. Guess the stars just lined up right or maybe we found where they dumped the McDonalds fish lol. The 8 had a red hook in its jaw, I guess who ever had stuck her didn't tie a good knot. The hook looked to be in new condition so I assume that it had happened pretty recently. I've got it stuck in my hat, its my new good luck charm. henrylewis
How you do hunter?
hunterfishes
Not too well Henry Livingston was very muddy from the rain and all we caught we a bunch of white bass. The 0 put him 2 points out of the AOY lead with the last tournament on Rayburn on June 21st. I'm hoping we can have a good tournament there and maybe get back to first, but its gonna be tough. Thanks for checking though. hope we can find a big bite out on the breaks I think you can get a small limit shallow but not sure the big weights are up in the grass. bighed
Gent's I'm headed to Rayburn this weekend to fish as a non boater in my club tourney. I've only fished this lake a couple times and that was 2 years ago when the water was low. I've not found much for current reports on the www so I thought I'd ask here. Not looking for anybody's honey hole since I'm in the back seat but can anyone give me an idea of what to expect when i arrive? Is there any morning topwater bite going on? What water depth, structure/cover, presentation is working right now? Please feel free to reply by private message if you prefer. Thanks for your time, bighead
bighed
As a follow up, there was a strong early bite fishing anything that could be pulled through vegitation. The bite was fair a little later in the morning switching to c rig on flats in 12-20" adjacent to the river channel. Once the sun was up high it became fairly difficult to get bit at any depth althought there were fish schooling on the surface at times. Caught zip fishing humps and points on the main lake. 24 anglers from my club fished 2 days. Three biggest fish were under 6 pounds and all came shallow. garrettmraz
Hi I have never been the Rayburn before, and I decided to go in late July. I was wondering if anyone is willing to help me figure out where to start. Thank you.
ATX
Start and finish in 5 fingers and you should be able to have a nice day.
ATX
The lake is really big so I would get a map and fish the closest area to where you are staying.
