You can really tell the river smallies from the lake smallies.  River ones have those huge tails!

19", maybe a hair more.....3.5-4lbs.....thing fought like a mule!

They do fight.  We just got done with an overnighter float for smallies and even though the biggest ones were only 15-16" and a pound and a half, you would have thought we had a 5-6lb large mouth on there the way they fought!

Not necessarily.  This is the smallmouth forum, and that's a smallmouth bass.  Carry on.

When I lived in Oregon I fished the mighty Columbia.....ohhhh so awesome for nice smallies. In the fall you could almost have the river to yourself as everyone was chasing slime rockets. Awesome times.

Yep. This is my world right now. A lot of traffic at the ramp and in the channel but zero bass fishing pressure. Get the funniest looks cruising by in my bass boat, they think Im nuts. But I think their nuts for owning a boat they keep in the garage most the year.

Head up to Hood River and fish the humps downstream...you probably know where they are and points. Amazing for big fish in the fall.
