Tapered/Bullet Split Shot

Featured Replies

Last weekend I was a co-angler in a tournament and my boater was using a small split shot that was tapered similar to a bullet weight. The design allowed the weight to move along the line, but could be removed if needed without having to re-tie. I have checked Tackle Warehouse, Cabela's and Bass Pro, and see nothing like this. Does anyone know who makes this product?

Water Gremlin Bullshot.

Water Gremlin Bullshot.

Exactly - I use them often.  The only gripe I have is that they don't stay on for more than a few casts (or especially in weeds).  This might be a problem if you use braid like I do. On mono/fluoro it should be fine though.

Hey I've got some of these. Never really used them any. Guess I'll have to give them a try now.

They sell them al Wal-Mart.

I picked some up a while ago to use as drop-shot weights.  I like them for that application because they still tend to come through weeds fairly well (when casting DS rigs) and I don't care about them damaging my line since it's below the hook.  I haven't had a problem with them staying on the line, but since I'm DS'ing them I don't really hold back on the pressure when crimping them on.
