Question about Shaky Head fishing

Featured Replies

Is there a certain type of worm you should use for shaky heading or can I use anything? :);)

You can use pretty much any soft plastic on a shaky head.

Most people use finesse worms for a shakey head, but you can use any soft plastic.

6 1/2"  GYCB Kut Tail

8-)

I'm very fond of the 4 1/2" straight tails that Robo Worm makes.

4.5" Straight Tail Roboworm

After reading an article about the Hag's Tornado I picked up three bags of them from ***.  They look good and I'm anxious to give them a try.  I also use the Shakeyhead worms from Coosa Tackle.

i use the zoom shakey head worms

Something to remember about rigging different plastics on the shaky head - plastics with an action tail will make the rig fall more or less straight, where straight tail worms or whatever give the rig a spiraling fall. So remember that when rigging up.

If fish are tight to cover and closer to the bottom I'll rig an action tail worm and cast just past the cover.

If I'm just prospecting and poking around I'll use a straight tail worm most of the time.

I like the Rage Tail Baby Craw in Bama Craw on a shaky head.

Stuff I rig on a shakey head jig:

Grubs

Worms ( any type )

Lizards

Craws

Creatures

Jerkbaits

Zoom Trick worms, and Roboworms(mostly the Fat straight tails)

I like to shake-E baby brush hogs

My 3 favorites would have to be berkleys shaky worm, rage craw, and chigger craw. Always seem to do well on one or the other.
