What Are These?

Featured Replies

I was out on the lake yesterday and I noticed these "sack" looking things hanging from limbs and logs that are becoming exposed from the lake being pulled down. They king of look like a white brain but are really "solid". Any idea of what they are?

I tried to post a picture but it would only let me post it really small.

Did it look like this?

I see the stuff pretty often on tree limbs and such. I believe it's supposed to be a sign of a healthy body of water it's called phylactolaemata bryozoan. No idea how to pronounce it, but that's what it's called  :laugh5:

Those are in a couple of the ponds that I fish.

My honey hole has them, but haven't seen any this year? Weird things they are...They look soft and gross even though there hard as a rock.

Weird looking, but there are many strange creatures lurking beneath the surface.
