Left my wallet at Subway last night. It has my badge to get in to work in it. Supposed to be at work by 0630. Called work they said keep them posted. Called Subway at 0545. They have wallet. Won't give me the d**n thing til 0700. So here I freaking wait. Talk about a rotten start to the day. I guess it could have been worse. Someone could have stole it. Grrrrrrr.

Worked out fine. I called my company 4 times between 0545 and 0730. Im pretty sure they got sick of hearing from me.

Then much to my surprise I got to go back to working with my welding tool buddy today. Yay me.

Now Im a ok stick welder. Im not the greatest, but I get by. I can TIG weld with the best of them. I ain't done much stick welding in the past year and a half so I'm refreshing and relearning some stuff. My welding tool buddy is stressing beautiful welds right now. Since we got time to practice and what not til the outage starts. We have been doing just that. I have made some of the ugliest welds I have ever seen the past two weeks. Being a complete smart arse today. I decided I would make my last batch of welds left handed. I figure I TIG weld left handed so I might as well try my luck at sticking with my left as well. (Im right handed) Holy crap! I laid out three of the most beautiful welds I have ever done! Homies jaw hit the floor as did mine. I have never seen someone laugh as hard as he did about my backwards welding. Even my Forman and job Stewart were stunned by what I did. It was a fitting end to my day.

I Lost my wallet a while back. Finally got all the important stuff redone. Then I put on a pair of jeans out of the closet and found it. Apparently the wife ask if they wear dirty and I said no I just put them on long enough to run to the store. So she hung them up with out checking the pockets.

I'm a painter and wear painters whites most of the time.

Ahhh I tried stick welding something in my shop last month after not touching it for two years. Man it was ugly. Had to grind the welds down so nobody would no. Lol. Biggest problem was I couldn't remember how to set the welder for what I wanted.

The guy that thought me how to stick weld said make c shapes. But after watching the molten metal flow behind the ark for a while I started playing. I could do all kinda things and it still came out perfect. Had him amazed.

Took a long time to learn to slow down enough for verticals though. Looks like your making a heck of a mess with all the extra stuff falling down.

I like wire of any kind a lot better. Flux cored barges for a little while. Even the monster wire almost as big as pencil. Man that stuff smokes bad! You can't see anything ya just gotta feel it.

Would love to try tig. I've watched some and it looks easy enough. Like an art form.

Just don't ask me to cut nothing with gas. Whoa It ain't pretty. Needs some grinding when I'm done lol.

TIG takes a lot of practice and a steady hand. Its clean compared to the others. No soot, no slag, and no splatter. Its a lot of fun. I ain't ran a cutting torch in almost a year now. I used to could cu tree straight as a laser. Im pretty sure it would look like an alligator bit off what ever I cut with one now.
