Received my first order of Siebert jigs just before Christmas, looked so nice I ordered more.  My question is, do you guys trim or flare the weed guards out or use them the way they are.

I normally trim them to the end of the barb, any further and they will become too stiff but it isn't required, I also like to fan out the guards if I'm pitching into dead falls with a lot of limbs.

Flare them, but other than that, nothing else.
