What do I need to purchase to create my own Carolina Rig?  Please be specific as possible.  Thank you!

Not much. I use #6 Spro power swivels, an 8mm red glass bead, and a slip sinker, weight depends on depth, and weight style depends on the bottom/cover your fishing. I prefer bullet sinkers because they slip through grass better than the barrel types that a lot of people use.

I rig mine like this... tungsten bullet sinker,glass bead,metal clacker disc,carolina keeper, and then your hook of choice.

Luhr Jenson made a rubber washer for their buzz bombs and I use one of these between my weight and the knot. It gives it a little cushion and helps prevent damage.

The classic Carolins rig is made up using a size 1 barrel swivel, 8mm glass bead and 1/2 to 1oz egg sinker.

Mono leader, 10# to 15# tied to the barrel swivel, length between 24" to 36".

The weight goes on the main line followed by the bead, then tie on the swivel.

Finesse C-rig; no swivel, mojo style weight 1/8 to 3/8 oz, Carolina plastic keeper holds the glass bead and weight up the FC main line, hook tied to the end.

A couple of suggestions to the basic rig. One is to use a Carolina Keeper above the knot on the mainline as a bumper to protect the knot and the other is to use a mono leader of less strength (lb. test) than your mainline of braid or FC.

I actually like using braid for my main line on c-rigs.  I feel it helps with hook sets on long casts.   I run 50lb braid, a 1/2-1oz tungsten flipping weight, a glass bead or tungsten force bead, a brass clacker/knot protector and a swivel.  I like to use 24"-48" of 15-17 mono for my leader.  The mono adds a bit of shock protection and helps keep the bait up off the bottom.   It's a really good idea to use a lighter weight leader line so that if you get hung up all you lose is the hook and not the whole rig.
