Cleaning Rod Guides?

Featured Replies

I'm finishing up getting my gear ready and prepping my used rods is the last on the list. Soapy watr and a Q-Tip is what I normally use.

Just wondering what you guys use for cleaning.

Q-Tip and Lure and line conditioner. If it is really bad I will use something like simple green or mean green.

X2 or Reel Magic

eyeglass lens cleaner with a small micro fiber cloth.

First run a piece of nylon stocking through it to check for any imperfections that may need to be addressed . Then run Clorox Wipes through as well as around the Guide and finish with a Q-Tip if needed and paper towel. Finish with Eagle One NanoWax....

Wow, that is going above and beyond! I am impressed.

Rinse my saltwater rods with water.

I use Bass Boat Saver on my rods and guides (reels too).  Cleans and shines them right up.
