Need Help Choosing Flip/pitch/punch Reel?

Featured Replies

Most of my bass fishing to date has been crankbaits/spinnerbaits/ surface plugs, etc.   But I want to try Flip/Pitch/Punch in the heavy weeds this season.

Just bought a Loomis GL2 FPR  7'-5" rod and looking for recommendations for a suitable quality reel to match.

Any suggestions welcome.

I never heard of these reels before.  Where can I see the reviews you mentioned?

I just checked out these reels on Google.

Seems like they're not available with Left Hand wind???    Strange. . .

I'd go with a Chronarch 200 E7, Chronarch CI4+, or a Metanium XG. Of course a discounted Curado G would work as well. Also if you can find one the new Curado I would be sweet.

Lews Superduty in low gearing for torque.

Here's mine:  http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-optimus-xlt-dhc-review.html

Several more listed below the article.

Most people do high gearing to make retrieving faster and reducing time between pitches/flips.

I'm looking for the same set up. Something for the slop

I think this would be a great rod. I love Quantum stuff I just can't find anything that has 50lb line rating

As for reel as stated I would go with something quick (7.0:1). I just found out Abu has a 9.0:1 thats 37" per turn!!!

True, but unlike most people I prefer torque.
