Pinnacle Rods

PINNACLE DHC5

have read the ones posted on the forums but what do you guys think of the rod?

Also which rod would be better for all around cranking the 7' MM OR 7' MHM?

I would try before you buy on the Medium. I was very dissapointed with the power. Its not medium, I would argue that its not even medium light. Also the handle is extremely short. I extended mine. I still use it but it actually plays backup to a couple of much cheaper rods. The DHC5's are good rods but in my opinion the Medium Cranker is not one of them.

I have the 7ft. heavy I won here a few years ago. It's an awesome rod, well built, very light. But the ACS handle is what keeps me from buying more. If not for that, I would replace every rod I own with them.

Every review I have read has been positive including tackletours glowing review. As has been mentioned, the acs reel seat is a deal breaker for me. I have one rod with an acs seat that I bought because it is a high quality custom. Even then, I have thought about getting the seat re done.

If that doesn't bother you, I have no doubt you would be happy with that rod

What do you guys not like about the ACS seat?

It has a finger shaped ergonomic grip on the lower part and the exposed blank is at the top. If you grip the rod like that, it's fine.

I happen hold the rod in a way that I prefer and exposed blank at the base. Therefore the acs seat actually blocks contact with the blank with how I hold the rod. I then had to change my grip on both how I hold the rod AND reel.

Again, no big deal for some, but I can't stand it

I didn't like the ACS seat when they first came out. It took a little while, but reels have gotten smaller and I actually prefer the seat now.

That's an ECS seat. Both are made by Fuji.

ok, do you think powell or duckett would be a better rod?

Never used either.
