I fish a lot of ponds with leave's and or mud and I was wondering if any of you guys have a specific type of jig that would work best in that situation! Thanks in advance!

Not that I know of. I get really aggregated fishing jigs in ponds that have a ton of leaves at the bottom. I usually do a fast upward jerk with the rod to hop the jig and get less gunk as opposed to dragging it along the bottom... But the fish don't always want it that way.

I find here in Miami the Jika Rig works on all bottoms.

Tear drop weight work a little better for me on the mud bottom lakes.  

Try a casting jig head thats what i use alot. Or the jika rig

I use a Buck Eye Min Mop jig.  It has a broad head that lends the jig some stability when sitting on the bottom.  Football heads also work well.

Jigs suck in those conditions. An unweighted or lightly weighted soft plastic is going to be a better option.

Yeah, you know, I'll try to fish a jig in as many places as I can, but the bottom line is, there are better options for that kinda place. I'd just use Tx rigged plastics, probably. Or a swim jig maybe. Definitely a jika rig and drop shot. 

I fish alot of local ponds with muddy/weedy bottoms. I found that a texas rigged tube is a great alternative for a jig. It also brings in alot less mud and leaves on your lure.

Texas rig a baby brush hog...seems to work for me until the heat dissipates the leaves and then you can use a jig

I'd go with a lightweight swim jig.  1/4oz or so and barely touch that bottom if you can, with a lightweight trailer you might be able to keep it from sinking into the gunk.  Gentle/non-violent hops should help keep it cleaner.

 

If your wanting it to sit on the bottom, use a different bait as suggested above.

X2. Try swimming it slowly with a twin tail trailer near or right above the bottom. It is basically the same presentation as dragging it but you wont get caught up in lots of gunk.
