Welcome aboard Josiah

I've never striper fished in Virginia, but Chesapeake Bay is a renowned striped bass estuary.

In fact, most of the stripers caught along the Jersey shore were born in the Chesapeake Bay.

In the inlet south of Fisherman's Island looks like a shoe-in for stripers.

I met a fellow from Maryland last week, he's a striper fisherman there.  Telling me that they run good size then they run north, the smaller ones he says stick around his waters.  Most of my striper experience is on Long Island.

One favorite spot in the Chesapeake is around the big bridge for stripers.

There are a bunch of places from shore and boat. Historically the striped bass fishing in that area is great, but last fall/winter was almost non-existant. If you are military, you can access some good spots on the bases as well.

Used to fish out in chesapeake/north beach, down in solomons island....proper name for the fish in MD is rockfish. I never heard striper until I met people from the NE. lol Maybe jigfishn will see this, I hear he has caught a few he knows the baits that will get them all rialed up.

If you're ever up near NYC or DC and want to go, give me a shout. I'm jealous of you though, We may be making the FL move soon.

Only be jealous that I fish 7 days a week, not where I live, I am not in one of the better fishing locations here in Florida.  Coming from an urban area, now living in a congested over populated area suits our lifestyle, many would not like it.  I don't work for chamber of commerce and I don't recommend Florida for most people.  Where I'm at there are no stripers and redfish are rare.  Several years ago we had a major tropical storm that rearranged the sand bars, fish don't come in like they used to.
