Bill Dance Answered My Question!!!

Featured Replies

Bill Dance had a Q&A on Facebook the other day. I asked him about flipping and pitch with a leader. This is what he said, hopefully you guys/girls find it useful!

65 pound braid and 40 pound leader? What are you fishing for, orca?

That's really cool! Try asking kvd a question. I'd like to see if he would answer. Not hating just wondering

Funny you should ask that. KVD had the same Q&A as Bill Dance I think it was in February, anyways I did ask a question I was a little let asking it (almost at the end of the Q&A period) but I didn't get a reply. Probably didn't  see it but I tried just like with Bill.

Really really BIG ones! Or sperm whales whatever grabs first and I do it all on a 6'6" MLF hahaha

I've sent some PM's to some of the pro's.  They have all responded.  Although I sent the messages what would be considered the off season for the tournament trails.  I believe they try and stay in touch with the fans as best they can.

Its better to have 65 lbs braid and not need it than hook an orca and wish you had it.

I wonder if Bill actually answers those, or a "media team"?

Definitely jealous. Grew up watching that guy.

My guess is media team...i know on Jimmy Houston's FB page he came out and said that he or his team would try and respond to things....

What i am wondering is why ask bill when you have people here that can answer the same question:)  I also don't know if i have ever seen Bill flip or pitch a jig in any of his shows...

I have too and I have gotten some responses too.  Its pretty cool to get a response from a pro, too

If you notice, he didn't say that he did. He said, the guys that he knows.

I watch Bill Dances fishing shows. I watch what he does while listening to what he says. We can learn from him both ways. Watch closely how he works the rod and reel with different lures and presentations.

My hats off to Jerry Mckinnis, Bill Dance, Hank Parker, the fishermen boys, Jimmy Houston and mainly Glenn here on the forum, from the beginning of this forum Glenn has helped me out with great advice. For all these guys without them I wouldn't be the fisherman I am today. Glenn has passed on his wisdom to me and I passed it on to my family and friends. We now have a large growing family of fishermen. Even my daughter in laws fish for bass too. When I purchase new lures for my son's to try I can't forget the gals too. Even the fishing industry gains by the pro's giving us advice. It's a win/win situation for everyone.

Take a kid fishing, take him often, make the time to take him.

They will remember you forever what you did for them. Even as adults today the neighborhood kids still thank me that I took the time to pile them all in my car to take them fishing. It makes me wish I done more for them. Maybe a camp out and fishing trip.

You guys and gals probably won't remember gad-about-gaddis the real flying fisherman with his float plane. He would fly into bodies of water where there were no roads and fish off the float on the plane. Watching him as a kid we were glued to the tv set in awe. Soon after Jerry McKinnis was on tv too. This was a time when there was no such thing as a bass boat. Jerry made his new plywood boat every year. He is the true godfather of bass fishing. Jerry did invent the bass masters too. No one since has drawn so much attention to the sport of bass fishing as Jerry has. Jerry is still the man.

That could be true.  When I read Brent Chapman's article after he won AOY, he talked about having lower back pain.  One of the things he talked about was how he had gotten it under control.  I asked him in a PM how he was able to do so.  He gave me links to an article on Field and Stream's website.  He said that he used the same guy that the article talked about.

I was glad I received a reply.  I didn't think I would have gotten one.

this is too funny  :eyebrows:

I wish I were going fishing with Bill Dance today! I love Bill, I watch his shows so often that my kids sing his theme song when it's on. #0 plus years on t.v. doing the same show speaks for itself. Bill is a legend and flat out the best fishing host on tv. Here is to 30 more years.

Good luck and be safe...
