Setting The Hook With Fluoro

Featured Replies

For you fluoro pros out there, how are you guys setting the hook with a t rig?

I normally use mono but tied on a little fluoro. Got two bites but both came undone. First time using fluoro.

It's the same for both. Mono and fluoro both stretch. I just use the typical reel up slack and overhead hook set.

It's exactly the same.

It may be your knot. I had trouble with that as well when I first started using fluoro. Make sure your everything is laying correctly before tightening. Be sure its wet wet wet! Practice tying at home a bit so you will have it down. It will make things easier and faster out on the lake.

X3 ;)

Not a fluoro pro, but I set the hook the same with all lines. Proper rod, proper knot, and proper hook will hold up to any hookset you can think of. Myself, I'm a lean back into the fish kind of guy.
