crankbaits

Featured Replies

How do you guys keep track of how deep your cranks dive to ?

I organize them like that in Plano Boxes.

Shallow

Medium

Deep

Jerkbaits

etc...

Use a magic marker(sharpie) and write the diving depth on the bills. It works great for me.

Great suggestion. I'll try this for my older cranks that look similar.

I do both the above points

organized by depth in my plano box and write the depth on it

I use a marker and write the range as well. i have found that the numbers last longer when written on the underside of the body near the bill.

I write the weight and the diving range on the underside of the bill with a fine sharpie marker. Then I organize by weight and depth. (Incredible overkill  :))

X2, I also do the same for jerkbaits.

I memorize the listed diving range and make mental notes when I use them. Most of the time I can tell the diving range by looking at the bill.

I organize by depth in Plano boxes and sometimes write the depth on underside of the bait. For the most part I remember how deep my favorites dive and have an idea how deep they run by the bill.

Ditto.

I scratch the running depth into the bottom of the bill with my knife after taking it out of the package.

I use Rapala DT series crankbaits and have them in Falcon Boxes sorted by the 4's, 6's, 10's and 16's. Real easy organization.

I've fished them enough to where memory tells me.
