The One .

Featured Replies

You alright fellas

Impatience (looks like Impotence before the jokes kick in aye lol ) is starting to get to me and I wanting to order an imported g loomis nrx or a st croix legend elite/xtreme jig and worm rod .

After reading ridiculous amount of views, reviews, opinions etc etc I was wondering outside of custom rods what is regarded as the one?

Also if you could win any combo of any jig and worm rod you wanted and any baitcaster reel you wanted to go together as your ultimate combo and it comes with a life time warranty on both ,

with no questions asked by the companies and you wouldn't even have to pay a penny in postage for returning them to be replaced if you ever needed or the replacements being shipped back to you ,

you wouldn't have to pay a single penny for anything to do with this combo so you wouldn't have to convince/treat/beg the missus for her to even agree to it ....................................

Which would it be?

Which rod?

Which reel?

This is purely hypothetical and obviously one mans/gals "The One" combo is going to be different from another's isn't it.

So what's your "The One" combo?

Core 50MG

Tatsu #10, 12, 15 or 20. I currently have braid w/ #12 leader, but I think

I'm going to go with a full spool of #10 for medium weight soft plastics (7"

Thumper, 5" Senko and Fat Ika).

Note: My comp is the BCR893/ Curado 50E supertuned. My other "very favorite"

is the MBR842C/ Core 50MG. I do not yet own the NRX, but I have handled a few.

The NRX appears to be the REAL DEAL!

If I could only pick one setup out of my line up to be that "go to" combo it would be the NRX893/ METXG #15 Tatsu. I have yet to find anything that comes remotely close to this pairing.

Roadwarrior thats the same NRX rod and shimano reel I am looking to import fella .

The tatsu fluoro as we'll fella aye. Lol .

Cheers for your response aye

I really LOVE my St Croix Legend Xtreme XC71MHXF rod paired with a Shimano Core 51.  Not sure I would prefer to have anything else over that.

Well I will stir the pot a little, there is nothing wrong with little round reels like these Conquest 50 DC...They are mounted on a NRX 802C and 803C which I use since I am not fishing real deep water.....

If you do not like DC reels you could got with a Conquest 50 like this.........

Popular choice - NRX893C.  This one has a Curado 50E on it - it's a green NRX and a green reel.....you catch more fish if the colors match............right.......... ;)

For the ultimate rig - it would be the 893C, and as mentioned by BradGuenette, a Metanium XG.

Megabass  X7 Bearingdown Type X, and some Monoblock variant...either the Racing Viola or the Bespoke Evoluzion Topaz would be pretty sweet.

I have to agree with the NRX893C but with the Calais 200DC, and 15 pound Tatsu. Have the Met XG but the "ONE" would have to be the Calais  :respect-059:

Yep.. the new Metaniums are awesome at EVERYTHING.

The simple weight differnce was enough for me to sell mine, to me if you want the Cadillac of reels big, heavy, and the fancy digital controls find a Calais, if your looking for the Ferrari of the pack it is the Metanium fast, lightweight and sexy as all hell!

:D
