Mepps Vs Rooster Tail Vs Blue Fox

Featured Replies

Which inline spinner do you like the best. Also please say what size and color you like. I like rooster tails but have noticed that after a couple fish the spinner won't spin. What are your opinions/ favorite

These all catch fish. You left out the panther Martin and the joes fly.

Joes fly. 1/4oz firetiger apache & blackgnat.

Mepps anglia. #3 silver w/ grey tail & #3 gold w/ Brown tail.

Panther Martin. #4 #6 Silver blade/body yellow fly.

Rooster tail. 1/4oz silver blade, white Dalmatian.

Blue Fox spinner w/blue fish head, but I can't remember which one.

They all work don't forget the baitmate bass scent or the yum shad.

Currently I am big on Mepps and Terminator inline spinners:

Mepps 1/3oz Gold blade

Mepps 1/2oz Black Fury

Terminator 3/8oz Gold blade

Terminator 5/8oz Silver blade

Mepp's without a doubt. I don't use them often anymore but the Mepp's was always the one to catch the biggest fish.

The only inline spinner bait I have ever had any luck on is a 1/8 ounce snow colored rooster tail with a white blade.

These two have caught a lot of fish for me.

Panther Martins catch the best. Note that the blade turns on the shaft, no clevis. These blades turn at low speed and don't foul like the Roster tails.

These two have caught a lot of fish for me.

The bottom color in 1/8 oz has attributed to almost all of my smallmouth. If you can find them, Uncle Josh's fly strip on the back treble works wonders. A few twitches during the retrieve drives them nuts.
