New Rat-L-Trap

Featured Replies

Hello, I just purchased a new rattletrap and was wondering if it's worth switching out the Mustad hooks with Gamakatsu hooks. Thanks!

I actually prefer to use Mustad's KVD elite treble hooks to Gamakatsu's. I have never had a problem with Mustad hooks so I, personally, wouldn't change them.

X2^ The Mustad hooks are fine.

The new Rat-L-Trap hooks are Bill Lewis Set Lock treble hooks. They are great stock hooks compared to the old crappy silver ones. There is no reason to change them out unless you want to put on a 2x hook or up the size.

I think it's great when a company finally steps up to the plate to make

fundamental improvements in their product...

Used those "stock" hook on the Magnum Trap down in Mexico a couple of times.

Great hook, works great with that bait and had no problem with sharpness or durability.

Landed many plus sized bass.
