Looking to purchase some deep-diving crankbaits.  Anyone know of a great place to buy with discounts or better prices than going straight to Academy or BassPro?  Also, what do you guys use when it comes to these (colors, size etc)?

 

I am fishing in stained water, usually visible up to about a foot below surface here in Lafayette LA, Henderson mainly.

I agree on Tackle Warehouse. I personally use Strike King 5XDs and 6XDs. Also agree on the bright colors in dirty water. My favorite color is Chartreuse Blue Back. One thing to note though is that I ALWAYS replace the hooks with size 1 KVD Mustade Elite Triple Grip Short Shank hooks on the 6XD and size 2 on the 5XD. If you want to really get down deep then try a couple 10XDs! They are killer in the summer in Alabama!

I switch it up --- Norman DD14 and DD22's in Chartreuse Blue is my go to for the muddy waters of South LA... I have better success with that color than the traditional fire tiger. If the water clears up a little bit and I could rate it "stained," I'll switch to traditional shad colors or black back SK 6xd's. I'm telling you though, as a fellow Louisianian, that Chartreuse Blue color is deadly.

 

 

But yea --- Norman's cranks and SK 6xd. Check that academy on Ambassador Caffery periodically for deals. Up here, they put deep divers on sale around the end of the season and in early January. Otherwise, tackle warehouse is your bet

Hard to beat the prices on Academy's H2O brand and they make a good deep diver in good colors. The local one has a sale on Strike King XD's right now for $4 each too. 

Another vote for TW. I am also a fan of the Strike King XD's. I throw the 5xd most of the time when I am deep cranking because the deep grass lines in my home lake are 10-13 feet deep and this bait gets the job done there. I'll use the 6xd when I need a big bite, or when I am trying to hit isolated cover out in the 15' or so range past the weed lines. I have a few 10xd's but have yet to use them much. Stained water for me (usually green stain from alge blooms) means two colors.....chart./brown back on dark days, chart sexy shad on sunny days.

Pretty much on board with most... Strike king XD series and you'll want bright colors. I fish a lake close to home with muddy water and no matter what time of year I can pull em in with a red/ black stripe crank. Other than that go bright. Fire tiger etc.

Tackle warehouse. Go with SK 3xd, 5xd, and 6xd. Some Bandit 300s, Bomber Fat Free Shad Jr's, DT 10s, and a few others.

10xd in green gizzard shad is awesome in clear water! Chart./blue in muddy water

Yeah I'd say take a look at some of the H2O express lures at academy they are a good price and are good lures.
