Signature Change?

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I just noticed today my signature changed.

Did BR update and something went wrong? I know I had the brands I use in different colors down there, and only Seaguar and RageTail are left.

Was there a policy issue that I broke? Or did something mysterious happen haha.

No I had that happen with my old Avitar... Mine was a pic of a shimano reel bag w/ 4 one knockers going head to head.... Has to do with the company's that pay the bills here on the forum... The different sponsors paying for their advertisement where I guess .. Well meaning folks make mistakes by putting things on their Avitar or Sig. At least that's my understanding.

If thats the case I find that kinda awry;

If I want to promote a brand for free because I like them, I should be able to regardless of who/competitors sponsor the site.

However, to the BR guys, im not trying to say thats is the case, I hope its not, but If it is, I think thats stupid, JMHO

Signatures are a gray area, to be sure.  But I generally allow people to list their sponsors and/or brand affinities so long as it's not a blatant ad, contains promotional images/content, or contains links.  Also note that if you own/run a website, then there's a place in your profile where you can add that information, but please don't place them in your sig.

More details can be found in the FAQs.

Hope that helps!

Glenn, didnt think it was blatant advertising or anything prohibited, will re-read FAQ's.

Edit: Just read FAQ's, Glenn, expect a PM soon to clarify

The signature area is very grey, I do see the need to have signatures monitored as well as actual posts.  One rule that stands is no discussion of religion and politics, verboten topics on this site.  Some signature lines have do have biblical quotes and/or political innuendos.  I personally see no major problem but it does go against the rules. A signature IMO is a permanent post, it's always there, the same rules should apply there as well as on going threads.
