Chatter Baits

Featured Replies

I've been maeaijg to try out the chatter bait but I I'm pretty sure it's a cold weather bait for pre spawn fish mainly? Are they still effective in the summer and fall?

They work all year round. I've caught them in water as cold as the mid 40's up to the high 80's and in almost every condition imaginable. The key for me is to fish them as slowly as possible while keeping the blade vibrating. For some reason black and blue seems to be the best color for me for big fish.

Great year round in any water condition for me.

I used it as a late spring right thru fall bait for years and it was only this year that I saw how effective they were in the prespawn. I was always a spinnerbait guy when it came to weeds but over the last several years I will use it around grass or brush and turn to the chatterbait in stuff like coontail as it doesn't foul and it also gets more strikes when ripped off cover compared to the spinnerbait. So go ahead and use them, it is a year round bait without a doubt.

Siebert Fogy paired with a twin menace. Awesome bait.

Chatterbait bayou craw , blue and black have been deadly , especially around wood cover .
