Stick Marsh At Night.

Featured Replies

Has anyone here ever fished the Marsh at night? How did you do? What baits were productive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stay off Stick Marsh at night, it is too dangerous and the bugs will eat you to death.

Already in the know about the stumps and would never run above idle at night there. It's hard enough during the daylight hours. What makes you say it's too dangerous? Big spray and the correct clothing can keep the bugs at bay.

Too dangerous = no way to get back quickly in the event of a medical emergency

Go for it.

It is already out in the middle of nowhere. I do not think it is particulary unsafe since you know the stump hazards.

If a medical emergency occurs, you will need to be airlifted to the hospital anyways.

You will get eaten alive by the mosquitoes though.

If you end up trying it, let us know how you do.

Just seems like lake is seeing a decent amount of pressure during the week and crushed on the weekends. Figured it may be a good idea during non daylight hours and may be a good timeti catch some pigs. Thinking one thing may be to net ALL fish as the gators feed pretty actively at night. What do most of you guys use during your night time fishing???

Bring a headlamp with red light/lense. This wont bother the fish but makes all the gators eyes glow real bright.

I'm a little more worried about the gators you CANT see... Lol. Like the one BBD saw laying on the bottom. I'm sure he would have loved a nice 5-10lbs bass right at the side of the boat waiting to be lipped and pulled in the boat minus one of our hands or arms. Lol

^^^lol @ minus hand or arm...

Stick Marsh is my home lake.

Being from Boynton, just how well do you know the lake? As RW said, it's dangerous. If all you're going to do is idle, you'll be fine. Medical emergency? Yeah, you be screwed! LOL

My buddy decided to fish it ALL night a few years ago. It was nothing to write home about.

My main concern with fishing there at night would be my tow vehicle in the parking lot.

I did talk to another dude a few years back that was on the Farm side at night and had a couple dudes standing on the East levy fire off several rounds at him and then just kept walking down the levee. Will that happen to you? No, but it's kind of freaky that it happened to this guy.

Come armed and be ready to pull the trigger if you decide to embark on this adventure.

I would advise against it..................

Just have to be quicker then the gator lol.

Everything can look different in the dark. You may go out with clear skies and cloud cover move in. Be a little off course and stumps become a problem. That being said, I would love to throw a jitterbug, or big zara spook at night out there.
