Using Saltwater Lures For Largemouth And Freshwater Lures For Stripers Or Blues.

Featured Replies

I was fishing next to the bridge going in to plum island ma. I noticed a guy using spinner baits and other fresh water lures. Then I noticed that my heddon spook Jr popper looked perfect for largemouth even though it's for the salt.

I use zoom flukes alot and some other "freshwater" soft plastics, I've also used booyah spinner baits with success in salt water

Been figured out for 10-15 years now!

Try Rage Tails Menice on a lead head jig for big Specks & Reds.

Another trick is Rat-L-Traps for Bull Reds ;)

I once had the pleasure to make many trips to the MS and  MS/La border and fish the marshes. There were times when

Reds, Specks and Bass were all together in the marshes. We would throw Baby Torpedos, Dying Flutter and Devils Horse

for Bass but sometimes get vicious strikes from Reds. A Bull Red on your line can flat wear you out...

rattle traps for stripers ;)

believe or not, you can catch a snook and a tarpon with a bass worm and frogs. I'v seen this happened with my own eyes. I don't have to tell you about bass because they eat anything that they encounter. Theirs no rules. That's how they market lures. Its a fake vision. Their is no such of freshwater lures or saltwater lures. You present well with good presentation with any lure and any fish will eat it.

Freshwater fish hit saltwater lures and saltwater fish hit freshwater lures.  There is major difference in the way the lures are made, saltwater are built more durable have have stronger hooks that won't corrode as fast.  As far as catching fish it doesn't make a difference.  I have caught snook on just about every freshwater presentation including senkos.
