I just bought a pack of them the other day and I was just wondering how you guys rig em up? I was thinking either a split shot rig or a finnese Texas rig

I love lizards!(I love a lot of lures)  Texas rigged with a 1/16 oz or a 1/8 oz tungsten bullet weight, 6mm faceted glass bead.  Just slow reel it back and it will get hit.  I like shakyheads with small lizards as well.  it looks like a feeding salamander or newt.  Dropshot is another good way to rig it.  The most popular with bigger lizards is most likely Carolina rig(at least it was when I was a kid) although I personally don't throw a C-rig anymore. 

Never used the mini....but the regular size work best for me t-rigged; light weight.  Never caught a big bass on a lizard smaller than 6 inches, but I still throw the reg zooms sometimes when its slow.  There's been days when I couldn't get a bite on anything until I tossed lizards and then caught 1#'ers non-stop.  They're a fun filler when its slow.  T-rig 'em with no more than 1/4oz; 1/8 better.  Bring it back slow, but keep it moving.  Unlike a lot of worms, I don't get bites with a lizard just sitting still on the bottom.  Also try it weightless and let it flutter down -- if it gets to bottom without being hit, drag it back across the surface just fast enough to get the legs and tail pumping

T-rig, and choose your weight based on the clarity/cover/wind.

 

Had a good day with a chartruse regular size lizard on sunday t-rigged 1/4 tungsten, hopping it through some think weedy grass. Threw a curl tale accross the flat not bites, put on the lizard same area 4 in an hour.

I had a guide friend years ago on Toledo Bend that used the small lizard on a short C-Rig, maybe 12-18". He called it his "limit finder". I think that's now called the Mojo as stated above. I have to agree with him.

Question : Can you C-Rig or T-Rig a 4" ~ 6" lizzard any other time of the year beyond the spawn ?

I always hear about the lizzard success during the spawn (i.e. nest robber) but  I hear  little AFTER the spawn ...Your thoughts ?

They're killer on a mojo rig, try to get a weight that wont go through the weeds and skim it on top of them.

Slider heads exclusively for all my salamanders.

I've had success with the Texas rig, but I've caught the big bass just swim it. Look for structure and cast and reel it in slow about a foot off it. I use a 3/8 oz. jig head. I also recommend doing the same thing with the baby brush hog.

drop shot for me. Got a 3-8 and 5-10 this last weekend.

That is a split shot rig bait. The 5 and 6 inch work great on about any rig but the 4" is just too small for a shakey head or t-rig IMO. Great with a little hook and split shot.
