Gammy Skip Gap Hooks

Featured Replies

What's the verdict on the new Gammy Skip Gap Hooks? Do they keep the bait from sliding? Need to know before I stock up, should I get some of these or stick with EWG's.

My brother has used them, and says they're the best thing since sliced bread. I'm ready to use "em, just haven't had the chance.

Cheers,

GK

i've only used them for tubes so far and they work great! they will work good for other plastics as well.

They work great. I have been using them for more than two months now and they keep the bait on the hook. The only problem I have found with them is they tend to bend a little on heavy or braided line when you set the hook on a fish.

Fluke, I also just picked a few bags up from Dick's.

Are you guys skipping theese baits under docks? Hangovers? Or what

Also do you think skipping baits with theese hooks will work with a weight on the front like a split shot of medium sized?

Where can I get some other than Dick's? :-/ :-/ :-/

I have been using the Skip Gap hooks since January - got em from Bass Pro.

I use the 4/0 for plastic frogs and creature baits and the 3/0 for plastic worms.

The hooks work just as advertised. It is more evident on the frogs that I continually cast onto slop. Other "frog" hooks end up tearing the plastic after a while while, with the Skip Gap, my Horny Toads last twice as long as on the so-called frog specific hooks.

I would also like to see the same hook offered in the thicker gauge Superline hook.

Cabellas and Bass Pro probably..

Why not just get them at Dicks?

sounds like i'll have to give 'em a try! thanks for the input.

To answer the question of why not get your hooks at Dick's?  I know there isn't a Dick's in Oklahoma at least that I know of.  Try Academy they seem to have everything I want and usually at a better price than Bass Pro.

get them at gander mountain

I have been using them for a couple of months and have had great success with them.  I use a lot of Senkos and for some reason with the Skip Gap hook they tend to last longer, maybe it allowes the bait to have less damage at the tip causing less ripping.

Just a side note, I saw them at Dick's on clearance.  I hope this doesn't mean they are going to discontinued.
