Lake St. Clair spots
I have a club tournament on St. clair on Sunday and I haven't been out there in a while? Any suggestions on spots? We're launching in the river (St. Clair). Should I go with fishing the river or has the lake been better? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

terminal tackle mix-up
I store my hooks, sinker, and jigheads in various plano utility boxes separated into sizes, styles, and weights, but they always seem to get mixed up inside the box. Then I have to hold up the hooks next to each other and try to figure out if its a 3/0 or a 4/0, etc. Does anyone know a way to make these items stay in there compartment?

drop-shot hook
I agree with fourbizzle, but sometimes I use the Owner Mosquito ;D

What is your most productive lipless crankbait?
My Lucky Craft LV 500 pearl ayu...until I lost it yesterday on Lake St. Clair... >

When all else fails...
When all else fails, try a drop shot: 6 or 8 lb test fluoro, a 4 inch Roboworm on a #4 dropshot hook with a 1/8 oz. sinker... Works for me.

Gammy Skip Gap Hooks
What's the verdict on the new Gammy Skip Gap Hooks? Do they keep the bait from sliding? Need to know before I stock up, should I get some of these or stick with EWG's.

Vandam's Leading after 2 Days
Well said Jnamo! I'm a proud fellow Michiganian... They showed that driveby about 20 times and they showed KVD creeping up in the standing but didn't have a camera on him...But then again, who could ever have predicted that KVD would take the lead--duh--nice work ESPN.

Simplifying color choices-list your "go to" colors
Telling a bass junky like me to keep color choices simple is like telling Imelda Marcos to have only one pair of shoes. While I would like to keep it simple, the Bait Monkey is not on the same page...

Spinning reels.....what kind do you use?
The only area of tackle purchasing where I have no hesitation with brand is with buying reels----Shimano makes great spinning reels and I have several that have performed flawlessly for several years. I used 4000's before I learned to use a baitcaster and they were great with heavier line. Now I use mostly 2500 Symetres with 6 and 8 lb. test and they are great.

BEST CHATTER TYPE BAIT?
From what I've tried, I like the original Rad Lures Chatterbait best. I've tried the Venom knock-off and the Gambler version but these were not as productive. What I like about the original Chatterbait is that the blade is connected directly to the jighead without a split ring. That split ring whcih is included on some of the other versions gets tangled sometimes and I also think that the Chatterbait produces a more erratic, unrpedictable action.

The Finest Line
Seagaur fluorocarbon.

GYCB Kreature
This bait was my best soft plastic for big bass last summer. I T-rig it as in Lightning Rod's picture and use 15 lb. flouro on a MH bc rod.

10 best $10+ lures
What I meant was like what baitmonkey 12 wrote...like: 1. LC pointer 78 2. Megabass Pop X 3. etc.....

10 best $10+ lures
I'm looking for opinions on the best premium lures, Lucky Craft, Megabass, Specialty Tackle, etc. If you could only have 10 of these relatively high priced lures, which would you choose? I only have a couple now-- LC 78 and R.I. Vixen--both very good, so I was wondering what you guys thought were the best of the pricier lures.

VMC Sure Set trebles
Yeah 5 bass---that's kinda of what I was thinking, open water and maybe topwater baits...

VMC Sure Set trebles
I am putting new trebles on my baits-- are these (VMC Sure Set Trebles) any good or should I stick with Gammies?

What bait was your largest bass caught on?
My biggest bass was caught on a Rapala minnow spoon, pre-spawn. Just over 6 lbs.

Favorite Dog to Walk
barely legal vixen!!! compact size but with three supersharp trebles and a sweet paint job...

Spinning reels.....what kind do you use?
I would concur with the advice towards a 2500 shimano and go with whats in your price range. When you go smaller than the 2500, you get into problems created by smaller spools---more loops in the line which reduces casting distance. I've had sahras, sedonas, symetres and stradics and they perform great year after year...If you can afford it go with a stradic or better...

Who's your favorite bass pro,old or young.
Being from Michigan---I like Art Ferguson, Kim Stricker, and KVD---I like Bill Dance's show when he has that guy from the Cannonball Run movies on---what's his name?---anyway those 2 together are hilarious! Roland Martin seems like kind of a d***. I hate Iaconelli but he's obviously a great fisherman. From the old pro's still fishing, I like Larry Nixon and Zell Rowland---both seem like class guys...

Get both of KVD's books---great tips in both!
