The Rods At Icast

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the prices of some of the rods theyve seen? and does anyone know when they will start selling them?

The *** Archangel will retail from $650 to $725.

I'm interested in the release of the new megabass xx models.  In particular the diablo (7'2" f5).  This one will be their #1 seller imo.  I was hoping for something between the spinnerbait special and emtf.

Oh excuse me for being so vague. What about in the 150$ and less range

I'm going to pick up the new Veritas 2.0 when it comes out in a few days I believe.

Gary Loomis has a new one that is about $200 and looks good.

Edge EFX First Strike.

What rod is that?

Interesting, I somehow missed those.

They look kinda nice! I'll have to check them out when more info is available.

They are definitely unique.  I wish somewhere around sold Edge rods, I would love to get my hands on them.

The rods are sweet in hand, and the Edge booth was my highlight of ICAST. They are at a great price point, IMO, and should compete very well. The grip is not a "hard" carbon fiber grip, and has a little give to the handle. The rods balanced well and were not at all tip heavy.

I should have went to these first, but I chose the Bass line as my starting point. The Bass rods are so nice (and should be at that price), that I was let down with the EFX. That being said, I will be buying a couple.

Did you find the grip to be slippery when wet? Or when our hands would be wet?...

No, but that was my first question. They had a sponge and soaked the grip. The moisture almost gave a "tackiness" to the grip, and that totally alleviated my concerns.

Edge EFX. And the Phoenix maxim are on the top of my list.

I'm not very interested in the new shimano Clarus because in the icast vids I have seen on it, the rods are described as having the same blank, but with less resin and cross wrapping. The last gen Clarus has a very dead feeling so if they use the same blank it doesn't sound too great. Just my thoughts.

Great!! Thanks.
