Having a tough tim e deciding whether to use a straight shank worm hook or an ewg gamakatsu. Pros and cons?

both have their place....answer the above question and we'll help with which one..and size too.

 

4" senko... i use a 3/0 offset round bend..

I think straight, I use owner cps 3/0 to 5/0 but, I just like those, also I use a lot of straight and offset round bend to.... That's my choice..

Out of what you listed I'd probably throw the EWG.

Wacky rig or nose hook with Owner #5172 size 1/0 for 4" Senko.

For a 4 " Senko,  a 3/0 offset round bend is hard to beat !

A straight shank, round bend worm hook. If you prefer an off set hook, I'd recommend an EWG over the round bend. Go one size up with the straight shank.

I prefer an EWG, never had much luck with the hooksets with a straight shank but they work well for others. Try both and see what works for you would be my best suggestion. 

I like the trokar off sets. 

straight shanks, solid hookups - ewgs can flex but I've used them all and in reality not very particular except with traditional worms and flipping - then it's always straight.
