It looks like what we call a green sunfish.

Around here that is called a "goggle eye". I believe the proper name is warmouth bass.

Green sunfish

That is definitely not a Warmouth perch. Google is an amazing tool. Google green sunfish and that little guy will appear... lol...

Ok got it. Warmouth bass do not have two dots by edges of tail, green sunfish do

I call them bait! The proper name is green sunfish though :) That's a very washed out one, they can be pretty colorful. Aggressive little buggers, I've caught them on baits that were bigger than they are.

A green sunfish.  I know them well.

Great bait. Fillet out and you'll catch the heck out of channel cat

It's common for sunfish to hybridize and you could have a bluegill/green sunfish.

That's a pale, meek looking little Green Sunfish. 'Greenies' are great flathead bait. They are typically very sturdy little guys that will live a long time on the hook and move around quite a bit. They also make pretty good cut bait for channel cat once they die.

red bellied piranha

Kidding Aside.

Looks very close to a green sunfish.
