Featured Replies

I've been wanting to start trying swim jigs do you use trailers if so what do u guys use

I like using craw style trailers. My favorite is the Netbait Paca Chunk because they're durable & inexpensive.

Mr. Twister Split Double Tail, Zoom Swimmin' chunk, Missile baits twin turbo, or a Yamamoto double tail. All the others mentioned before are good too though.

I use three trailers, each has there own niche. In colder water when I am swimming the slowly, I like a single tail grub, around the spawn and through grass, I like a paddle tail swim bait (I like the Havoc grass pig personally) and when I am covering water and burning the jig, I have found the Havoc sub woofer to work very well for that.

I really like using the 3.5" to 4" soft plastic swim baits on the back of a swim jig, they just incredibly well together. I've had many days in which I couldn't get a sniff when fishing a swim bait on a jig head and then as soon as I put it on a swim jig it ends up getting bit over and over, and awesome deal that Ive been doing for the last 2.5 years. If I was going to use a different trailer it would be a ribbon tail grub or a rage craw.

KVD Caffine shad. Gives the jig a side to side action with a lot of skirt flair

Rage Tail Menace and Shellcracker

GYCB Swimming Senko (back half)

:fishing-026:

Havoc 5" grass pig with about 1"cut off.

I use Reaction Innovations Skinny Dippers, GYCB Swim Senkos and single tail grubs.

I use mostly craws, but if I am fishing it slower I will use a grub.

Rage Menace.

Rage Craw, Rage Menace, or R I Skinny Dipper

I have been using the caffeine shad with great success. Trim off about a 1/4-1/2" and your good.

RI Skinny Dipper or Berkley Grass Pig mostly. Occasionally I'll throw a Net Bait Paca Chunk.
