I see that some people add Hot Foot Pedals to their boats and some bass boat manufacturers have them as a custom option.

I was wondering if you hit big waves couldn't your foot come off of the pedal?

Does anyone know if Hot Foots Pedals are worth adding?

I added one this year and did it for safety. Better to have both hands on the wheel. Takes some getting used to when docking and pulling on the trailer. I like it.

If the boat only runs 40 - 50 mph, I wouldn't spend the money for a hot foot.

If the boat runs in the 60's plus, I wouldn't run without one. When a boat is up fully on the pad, you need both hands on the wheel at all times.

A hot foot has a bracket you slide your foot under. That way your foot stays secure to the pedal preventing it from slipping off... Yes there worth it if you have a bigger size engine on your boat.

In addition to what Way2slow said, I fish Lake Michigan and navigating thru rough water at a slow pace with both hands on the wheel makes for a safer trip  

Ive been debating on one for my Trition with a 115 on it.  the boat does over 50 and I haven't had it in to rough of water yet.  

I bought my boat used with a hot foot and pro trim already installed and can't imagine driving without them now. I never have to take a hand off the steering wheel while underway, which makes me feel much better in rough water.

I have a Tracker TV-18, with a Merc 150.  I installed one on my boat a couple of years ago, along with the column mounted trim control.  Now, I can keep both hands on the wheel at all times.  The Hot Foot works exactly like a car's accelerator pedal.  If your foot comes off, the boat slows to an idle, exactly as it should.  I would highly recommend the Hot Foot to anyone who's boat will do over 35 mph.

I wont own another boat without one.  The Hot foot allow for better control and safety especially in rough water.  If your foot would happen to come off the pedal the boat slows to idle unlike a standard throttle that stays at speed.

Depending on which model, the blinker trim allows you to use trim and/or control a jackplate or other accessory like a horn
