Currently using Champion Series 736 for jig fishing. It's a tad bit heavy, so I tried using a 735. It's the perfect weight, but a little flimsy in the tip.

Any advice here?

I have the exact same rod. 736 Champion. I use it exclusively for frogging though. Considering its a heavy, I find no problem with its weight. I throw for 8hrs without a problem. Great rod. If you want something lighter the next best is the 735 , as you have tried already as well. So you will have to find the middle ground of what is most important to you. More backbone or less weight? Other Dobyn owners will chime in shortly with more experience on these rods, listen to what they say. Good luck. 

I use a 735 for jigs, but the 705 was the best jig rod I ever had.  wish I wouldn't have sold it. 

I don't like the 735 for jigs fishing(I use it for frogs), though some swear by it. I much prefer the DX745.

The dx745c is an awesome jig rod, i use it for pitching 3/8oz and 1/2oz jigs. Can handle 3/4oz footballs too. Will be good for everything but the thickest cover

The 734c is agood jig rod in my opinion I use em for football jigs and flipping

If you're ok with spending the extra money, I believe the 745dx would be what you are looking for.  It would solve what you report being a problem with the tip of the rod in my opinion!

I have four jig rods: two DX745 for 3/8-3/4oz and two 805C (FLIP/PITCH) for 1oz - 1.25oz jigs.  I have several 735C rods...I don't like the action on that rod for jigs, but it is an awesome rod for throwing moving baits...toads/small swimbaits/etc...

Go ahead and get a DX, the tip on a 5 power DX isn't as flimsy as the tip on a 5 power Champion. Plus, there is more sensitivity in the DX series which would be even more beneficial with jigs.

If you like the 736 but find it a tad bit heavy, could look into the 765DX, or the 745DX which is a bit lighter in power than the 765. Really depends how you're fishing a jig (deep/shallow, what cover, how heavy line, how heavy of a jig, etc).

There will be Labor Day sales coming up you can save a boat load of money on a DX.  As others referenced the DX745 is a sweet stick. I wouldn't mind having a second one myself.
