What are some favorite lures for catching lots of fish pretty quickly. Usually I can only fish for about two to three hours on a weekend morning, and I'm curious about how to make the most of the time. I realize that every day the conditions will be different and different lures' effectiveness will change from day to day, but I'm curious about what generally works for everybody.  Im also fishing from shore.

Yep.  Many frown upon it, some despise it but it most certainly works.....live crawlers, minnows, leeches, etc.  I didn't use it much if at all last year and had a 6 week skunk through August.  This year I've had crawlers on an ice pack under my plastics and pull them out if the bite is slow or non-existent on lures.  And, like you, I'm mainly from the bank in 1-2 hr bursts.

Senko type baits, small crankbaits or chatterbaits. When I fish ponds from shore, I rarely if ever use spinnerbaits as it seems just about everyone else is using them. Senko style baits never fail.

Yes - Craws (if you can get or catch them), minnows / shiners, (even certain panfish), hellgrammites, frogs, and night crawlers for sure.

 

  Be sure to check the state & local regulations regarding the use, capture, transportation and release of live bait in your area.

Senkos and flukes would be ist choice from the boat or from the shore.  In Florida we often have thick, heavy cover.  They come through heavy cover without much trouble.  They also flat out catch fish all year. 

Numbers from the bank....I immediately think finesse-size worms - try 'em mojo, then worm-weight texans and/or c-rig....and even weightless if there's any surface activity at all.

Wacky rig a 4in senko.

Ned Rig - Cut a 5" Senko in half and rig it on a 1/8 or 1/16 oz ball jig head. 

Zman Zinkerz work best b/c they are so durable. Super glue one to the jig head and it should last you all day. 

Thow that a on spinning rod with 6lb test and you should catch all types of fish- bass, sunfish, catfish.

There's no wrong way to fish it - dead stick it, hop it, steady retrieve. 

 

My theory is that its like a small non threatening snack to bass - they'll eat it up all day long. 

Should give you more than enough action.

Choporoz is right on the money!! Finesse worms T-rigged weightless or with a small weight, wacky rigged or on a jig like a shaky head. If I need a bite and this fish are  ina negative mood I use a worm that I shouldn't say here but I will just because most won't care. I use a River Rock Baits 4.25" Night Crawler rigged on a 1/0 worm hook with a BB split shot put on about 6" to 8" above the worm, it is called a split shot rig and it produces fish and while I have caught a few good fish on it, the majority are in the 12" to 15" range, it really is a numbers bait. If they are even snubbing that I go to the smaller 3.75" Night Crawler but most of the time the 4.25" works. I get that worm in a color called oxblood, in that color they look just like a living worm and it gets bit like one also.

If it is clear water I would be throwing a 4.5" worm on a drop shot. If it is murky/stained I would try a wacky senko or small square bill.

Im assuming you mean fish as in bass.. if yer going after sunnies and crappy I'd still go with a small rapala or bitsy minnow

if you find a crappy school.. its game on for the numbers game
