Line To Line Knots

Featured Replies

What are your favorite knots for connecting to lines. Do you use the same knot for adding a leader to braided line as you use for tying two mono lines or two braided lines? I want to add more braided line to a rod that already has braid. What knot would you use?

Alberto knot for leaders.. I don't tie mono to mono but I'll use the alberto to tie braid onto my braid backing.

I would try the uni to uni knot OR the Alberto (crazy) knot and see which you like best ...I use both with good results .

Double alberto for me.

Mono to mono (usually of similar size)  Blood Knot

Braid to mono ( also usually of similar size) Uni to Uni Knot.

First off, you gotta have this website bookmarked:

Second, I have used the blood knot for braid to fluoro for years without an issue. I'm sure the Alberto and  uni to uni are fine knots as well though.

Went thru that exercise a while ago.. uni to uni is the way and has never failed me yet

Alberto, Albright, or Seagur.

I don't tie a line-to-line knot often enough to be good with one.  My father taught me the Blood Knot almost 60 years ago.  I like the Alberto (modified Albright) Knot the best, but have to admit that I can tie a Uni-to-Uni Knot much quicker because the Uni Knot is what I use on all my lures.  All are good knots if tied correctly.  I like the Alberto Knot the best not only because it is very strong, but also because it is smaller in diameter than the other two.

Braid to braid or to leader the alberto.  Mono to mono, no knot, fresh spool of line.
