Hi everyone- I picked up this trolling motor for 60.00. Everything works perfect.I am looking for any opinions or information on it.Esspcially from those who have had one,or has one. It is model PD-40 minkota. Power drive electric steer,also has battery monitor. Thank you........

A friend has one on his pontoon and it does just fine and my dad has one on his deep V and does well with it. Great motor for that money if everything is working fine with it. 

I guess it depends on the boat, and normal conditions you fish in.  For $60, if it isn't what you need, you can probably make a few bucks on it, reselling.

It has a delay, both on the stop and start and on making adjustments. Not a huge deal if you're just fishing down a bank or offshore structure or something. Get around some docks or standing timber and I'd probably end up just tying up to a tree and fishing around the boat like I was crappie fishing. 

If that has the foot pad I'm thinking it does you have to push down with your heel for the momentary power on and then tip your foot side to side to seer. That doesn't sound that awkward until you throw in the fact that the power button gets very finicky so it makes turning the motor with the power on next to impossible.

The power drive has a switch on the bottom right to pick from constant or momentary. In momentary the bottom of the foot pad acts as the momentary switch. The top part is tilted either left or right to seer.

I love when someone starts off with "I just bought" and then asking for opinions. It's too late at that point for our opinions to matter. At that point you should be giving us your opinion.

It should start off with "I'm looking at buying". This is at the point when others opinions might matter, not after the fact. After I've bought something, it's mine, I could care less what others think about it.

Iv'e got a Powerdrive V2, and the foot pedal isn't that bad. I have never used a cable-steer, so it didn't feel clumsy or unnatural at all. the V2 pedal looks a bit different, but it works the same as yours. I can work my way around docks and timber just fine, thank you!
