Best Two Piece Casting Rod For Overall Bass Fishing

Featured Replies

You will have to look overseas if you want better than great. St. Croix makes some nice 2 piece sticks.

I have BPS XPS Travel series and its pretty protean.

How much are you willing to spend ? Japanese rod manufacturers like MajorCraft or GraphiteLeader have some very really nice 2 piece rods.

Abu Veritas comes in a 2 piece. I've got one for travel, but I use it regularly as well. $100. Mine is a first gen. The 2.0 should be even nicer.

I've got  6'6" M/F and 6'9" MH/F Veritas that I really like.  They load up nice and cast well regardless of the reels I've tried on them.

I've not seen many other manufacturers out there making 2 piece casting rods.

Best of luck with your choice.

You can get a 6'6'' M, 6'6'' MH and 7'H St Croix Premier, all 2 piece.

I use a couple shimano volteus 2piece rods .For 20$ each not bad rods. You can find them at ollies

A lot of bps rods come in 2 piece. Fenwick has 2 piece rods as well. Every Fenwick I've fished seemed to be a great rod for its price.

Daiwa also has a new travel series out called the ardito that's looks nice.

Now that´s a nice suggestion, it does match the best two piece criteria.

the Tackle Monkey bit me & forced me to buy a Diawa Ardito 3-piece, 7', M/F casting rod. Build quality seems top notch, and the case is really nice. I've not fished it yet, though I can tell you it feels a lot like my Fenwick Siver Hawk M/F and BPS Carbon Lite M/M (both 7'). Though temps are falling quickly, I hope to get out a couple more times to break it in before ski season.

I live in a large urban area and I always keep my 2 piece medium rod with me whether on business or pleasure in office parks, urban creeks and canals, shopping centers, subdivisions and any other body of water I may encounter. The Cabela's Pro Guide Casting 6'6" has never let me down.

Old school basser...

For a while I was on the hunt for a 2pc MH 6'6" and a M 6'6". For the medium in fast action I ended up with Cabelas Fish Eagle. It's a nice rod that is as its rating states. I ended up with a cheap Daiwa MH Fast f andombo rod that was missing the reel. I've caught a lot of bass and catfish onthat rod. So the 6'6" length is very versatile and makes a good trunk rod. I also like the Gander Guide Series. I do have a good deal of St. Croix but not 2pc.

The new Daiwa travel look pretty sweet. That's the route I would go

For $49.00 (regular price) or best price on sale $29.99, I have several (6) 2 pc. Cabela's Pro Guide rods and have found them every bit as good at performance as the other rods that I spent 3 to 4 times the money for. I may have just been lucky, but they seem to hold up as well as have the right action that I require for varied types of lures and techniques that I use. I have comparable one piece Pro Guide rods as well that are my mainstay, and usually keep the two piece rods for the trunk of the car for long trips away. I don't have a Pickup anymore, though I wish I did for some of the ponds that I fish. My favorites are the 7' heavy for pitchin' and flippin' and the 7' medium heavy for wormin'. Last ones ordered were on sale for $34.99.
