Fall Nightime Lures?

Featured Replies

Towards the end of summer, a black cavitron buzz bait was getting a lot of bites but that has turned off since the transition to fall. Also, the pond I fish has a lot of leaves on the water now and very little current so most top water lures are out of play. The bottom of the pond has a thick layer of pond scum so dragging a jig is not very efficient either. What other lures would you

Recommend for Nightime fall fishing? I've yet to have luck in this pond with crankbaits, chatterbaits or spinnerbaits but I know these are supposed to be classic fall baits. Senkos are usually pretty productive during the day there but the dark adds a special challenge for line watching. Planning to get a headlamp soon to help with that. Thanks for any tips!

Spinnerbaits and crankbaits.  Black, loud, chartreuse, loud, black, rattle, loud, black, colorado blade, loud, black, vibration, loud...black.  I think you get the gist of it by now hehe.  Good luck!

Try cranking a bladed jig as slow as you can while keeping the blade going. That's been by far my best night bait all year.
