Favorite Fishing Snack

Depends upon how strict I am with my diet and training. Sometimes it is as plain as water, nature valley bar, grapes, and possibly a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for longer days. When I am not restricted it is similar but typically the sunflower seeds, jerky, or Gatorade/PowerAde drinks find their way into the boat.

Just curious, Diet and Training for what? I wrestle and have to make weight all the time... This year I'm wrestling a weight class up from last year so its a lot easier haha

I don't know about him, but in the fall I start cutting weight for ski season.  I climb mountains and tour a lot when the snow is down so there's always a fitness crunch when the leaves start to change.

My one staple is coffee.  I drink an insane amount of coffee every day.  Favorite snacks though?  So many...  Mostly lean protein though if I can help it.  Nuts, babybels or other cheese products, dried fruits and whatnot...  I try to stay away from too much starch and carbs until I'm in the middle of the ski season and blasting through calories like a hot knife through butter.  One weird one that I've grown to really like recently is squid jerky.  I know, sounds gross but it isn't and there's possibly no more lean source of pure protein out there- and nobody wants to steal it either which is underrated in a snack haha

Oh, and meatloaf.  God I love meatloaf.  Makes such a great snack too- probably my favorite sandwich.  I always make extra- or meatballs if I go that route so I can make myself a killer snack out of it during the week quickly.  Pop a few meatballs and WHAM!  Feelin' fine and satisfied.

Can't forget beer though.  There's food in beer too!

Food:

PB&J Sandwiches or Nutella & Jam Sandwiches...a lot of them

Drinks:

Coffee, Red Bull, Water...sometimes the occasional Dogfish Head 90 minute

I also smoke cigarettes(I know. I know) so that kinda suppresses the appetite.  I usually eat to take a break from fishing and regroup, recoup and rehook hehe.

CHEEZ-ITS

Sunflower seeds.

I use eating as a tactic when the bite is slow. Whenever I decide to eat a sandwich I get a fish. They are know as sandwich fish and somtimes save the day. You guys know what I'm talking about. It happens all over the country at every time of year.

I like my moms homemade beef jerky and love sunflower seeds.

Sunflower seeds, water, beef jerky, peanut butter, bologna sandwiches, dr. pepper, pepsi, and candy

For about 6 weeks after Halloween, it is roasted pumpkin seeds and leftover candy.

I am not much of an eater during the day.  For some reason night time changes everything.  Anyway for me it is usually a few Sprites, a Clif bar, some form of nut/seed, and maybe a candy bar.  The occasional jerky, or chips have been known to make it into the kayak as well.  However, generally when I leave about the only thing eaten is one of the snacks, and about half a bottle of soda (unless it is the middle of the summer and I have to drink more).  Usually I am too busy trying to fish, or maintain my position with the kayak to stop and eat/drink.

Some granola bars, peanuts, and water. If I'm going to be out for a long time I'll take a turkey sandwich.

Good too see everyone getting their fiber, lol.

Even if it's an all day thing, all I usually have is a bottled water and plenty of hot coffee. It's like I forget to eat and by the end of the day I'm famished. I go all out for dinner.

I always bring granola bars (mostly cliff bars), gatorade, and of course, BEEF JERKY. But I always bring floss too, crap gets stuck and bothers me.

Couple of bacon and mayo sandwiches, that may have some lettuce and tomato in there and a Coke or two. Chocolate chip cookies if available. And they always are

Beer

Funny it was brought up cause when im fishin I dont know where the time goes

I have no time for snacks and I rarely drink water

I just have some coffee, eggs and toast in the morning. Half sandwich somewhere between 11:00 and Noon, and nothing until dinner. I really get into fishing when i am on the water to be thinking about food. Since childhood, i don't eat much when I fish.  :Idontknow:

Wish they carried Spitz brand down where I live.

I like to eat, so I always pack a small cooler with food - a couple of sandwiches, cheese sticks, drinks and a few Cliff bars.

Whatever the daily sustenance may be, it Always taste much better when there is the slightest hint

of Big Bass slime in the air . . . . .

:)

If you like clif bars try Probars, better ingredients better taste..I love them.

I like to have a fat bag of nuts or seeds. If im gona be missing a meal I will pack a protein bar along with the nuts. For drinks: either coffee, beer, or strong drink with a chaser.
