Well This Never Happens

Featured Replies

If you're a frequent reader of the site, and particularly in the fall/winter, you'll see many readers complaining about the lack of success beyond about October. Well, none have been as frusturated as me it seems......however.....

Today I bundled up in the balmy 38F / 25mph wind day here in central IN and did a bit of fishing. We had a very good deal of rain yesterday, so the water was pretty cloudy. I used a diving stickbait and ended up catching 4 pretty decent ones within about an hour. I wish I could've stayed longer, but the wife was making pan-fried chicken, and I couldn't be late for that! :)

So I guess I can't complain anymore until I get stumped in the pre-spawn, LOL

Better you than me in 38* with winds blowing around 25 MPH,

Being from south Louisiana once the temperature drops below 70* it is cold and getting ready to snow!!!!

Wow, hanging tuff, we had 50 mph gust & sustained 28.... Nice work guy!

We had a similar day here in Illinois. I went to the gym instead. As I get older good pan-fried chicken (or most anything else) calls to me louder than fishing in a howling wind at this temperature. Way to go!

We had similar conditions here today. I got out for about 30 minutes from the bank to play with a new combo. Didn't expect anything but I actually saw a fish boil through a school of shad I was watching and got pecked pretty good on my jig. Of course it caught me sleeping and I missed him. Going back in the morning with the boat to see if I can do a little better if I can get to some deeper water.

Is this what they mean by the phrase, "winner winner chicken dinner" ?

As much as I would've liked to stay and fish, man o man.....that chicken dinner was great!
